1ste Pkra Tenerife
Posted on: 14 August 2010Jihaa today we finished the Doubel eleminiation of the Freestyle here in Tenerife.
The wind looked strong for 6m but during the heats it was dropping a little,so i went from pumping my 6 to riding my 10 hahah.
Andy came from 3th place and had a good heat against Seb Garat, so it was me against him in the final and the wind kicked in full. I was lit on my 10m but it was al or nothing and i went full power on it. had a pretty good heat wit lots of power and it was enough to win this event here in Tenerife.
Keeping the dutch pride high!heheh   
Yesterday we started the waves as well witch were a nice size about 1,5 to 3m in the big sets, first heat i won second heat a lost, so thats puts me some where around 10th place or so hahah pretty bad .
Next coming month will be pretty bussy for me with photoshoots, events and training.

1ste singels Tenerife!
Posted on: 11 August 2010After we finished up Pkra in Fuerte the day after we moved to Tenerife for the next tour stop.Only there is not much money and not much points eather , i am still here for the wave competition as wel. Â 
I had never been in Tenerife before so it was a new thing for me. The last 2 days have been with out wind and i was thinking it was going to be an other day with out wind today. But suddenly it changed of direction and the wind kicked in. 
I pumped my 12 and 10, took out my 12 for a ride but i was super overpowerd and pumped my 8 as well. but the wind picked up even more and i had to take out my 6 and 7 as well.
The whole day i was enjoying it so much the wind was strong and gusty. In the final i was against Seb Garat , had a solid heat but i saw Seb pulling of some good move,s as well.
But in the end i took the win. I am stoked about it, it,s realy good for my motivation again after some bad Comps in Fuerte and germany.

I worked my way up a bit in the doubels to a 4th place. Had a couple of good heats and had to fight for 3th place against andy.
But after riding 5 heats in a row , i had to ride against a fresh rider. I made a couple of mistake,s in that heat so Andy was the better rider in that heat and i ended up in 4th place. Â 
Unfortunetly for Kevin after 2 minute,s or so in the heat he landed on the back of an other wave and you could just hear something snap, he was carried out of the water and went to hospital. I feel really sorry for Kevin, i know how if feels and believe me i sucks big time!

Sunday we are of to Tenerife , for the next Pkra there and also a wave comp. For me this event is not counting in anyway for the ranking because it has no points but i wanna do the wave as well.

Comp does not always goes how you plan it!
Posted on: 4 August 2010Fuerte not being as i hoped for can we say.
Today we finished the Singels first heat i passed quit easy , rode solid and had some good tricks.
Seconds heat i was up against Ariel corniel and i need to beat him to get to the quarter final, but that didnt happen.
When i came back to the beach i was quit sure i won the heat, had powerd trick, variation and switch trick.
But the judges thought different and i lost in a close 3-2 decision in favour of Ariel.
Pretty F#$*% UP can i say , because i was feeling good , but competition doesn,t always goes the way you want to!
Now i am fired up even more for the doubels and ready to rock!

Moving on.
Posted on: 3 August 20101,5 week ago we finished Pkra in Germany , the longest and best organized event on Tour.
Mostly of the years we had al kinds of wind including a day of storm, i was waiting for this to come but 2010 no storm for the Pkra. Â 
In 2006 i won the event and just before coming there i got a 2nd place in Marroc after a close cal with Kevin, so i really wanted to win in Germany.
But things didn,t really worked out how i planned it! In the Singels i lost against Ariel corniel, just before the heat the wind dropped and had to go on my 14m underpowerd , so enough said hahah. In the doubels i had to make a comeback i needed 7 heats to make my goal. But i only did 2 in the end, again before the heat wind dropped 14m underpowerd , so i lost against Alberto rondina.
In this event i had 7th place, bummer but thats comp! Â 
Day 29 we flew to Fuerteventuera My kind of conditions , i like it here. It,s strong, gusty. in 2006 i won this event as well, last year had to do it with a 3th place and this year i have to make up for my 7th place in Germany.
I have been for 3 days in the north of Fuerte training a little. And the day of the registration we came down to the south.
Got a nice appartment looking over the Comp area.
Day 1 did 2 race,s and 3 heats of the freestyle , guess what the wind dropped. I rushed back to the hotel to grab my 14m but the where thats smart to cancel it , we waited until 5 o clock before we where released. Angela and me drove to the other side of the island and did a small surf session.
Hopefully the wind gods will be on our side Tommorow and the wind kicks in how it should be here!
